About this event

Well designed buildings and open space enhance our quality of life. In recognition of this Barnet Council in partnership with Re are launching the Delivering for Barnet Architecture Awards 2017.

Have you been involved in completing a new build, an alteration to an existing building or public open space that is of high quality design and positively contributes to the London Borough of Barnet?

Entry criteria:

  • The project must be located within the London Borough of Barnet
  • The project must have been completed between 1 September 2014, and be in full use by the closing date for entries on Friday 15 September 2017

In addition to the Judging Panel’s decision, residents of Barnet will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite shortlisted project to decide the ‘People’s Choice Award’. Voting will open in mid-September.

A summary of all entries and supporting photographic images will be displayed on the Barnet Architecture Awards webpage – www.barnet.gov.uk/architectureawards

All shortlisted properties will be visited by a judging panel, with all winners being announced at an award ceremony in November.

We are beginning to change and improve the Council’s understanding of its residents, and are making our first steps towards better services guided by in-depth insight. This is a long-term project and, while we won’t transform the services we deliver overnight, in Barnet, this is undoubtedly how we see the future of local authority services being designed.
